The Comfy at Home Throw Blanket in the picture was made with Caron Lovely Layers Cakes yarn in Raspberry Ice and Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Charcoal. To make this blanket, you can use any two worsted weight #4 yarns. The pattern is made by alternating 16 rows of the Caron Lovely Layers Cakes variegated yarn (color A) followed by 4 rows of the Red Heart Super Saver yarn (color B). One stitch is used throughout which makes it easy to crochet while watching your favorite movie or listening to a captivating book. I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.

SPECIAL STITCHES
Mini cluster stitch – To perform this stitch:
- Yarnover and insert your hook into the stitch.
- Grab the yarn, pull through 2 loops,
- Yarnover, grab the yarn and pull through (now you have 4 loops on your hook).
- Yarnover and pull through all 4 loops.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Foundation chain – It’s very important to chain the foundation chain loosely even though a larger hook size is used. If after the 2nd row, you notice that your work is forming into a rainbow shape, check to make sure your foundation chain is not too tight. Consistent tension is also very important. If you still experience curling, lay your work out and make sure it’s straight. If it is straight, then the curling will work itself out as the blanket gets longer. If not, then adjust your try to adjust your tension to correct this.
Turning chain – Instead of chaining 2 at the end of the row, this pattern uses a chain 1, then a hdc stitch in the same st as the chain 1 (the first stitch). Please make sure your first stitch starts in the same stitch a the chain 1, otherwise your edges will not be straight.
If you prefer to use the turning chain, substitute “ch 2, turn” where it says, “ch 1, turn.” Then, skip the part where it says “hdc in same st as the ch 1” and start in the 2nd stitch of the row.
BLANKET PATTERN
With 7mm hook, loosely chain 111 (or any number to reach desired width).
Row 1: With 6mm crochet hook, in color A, Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: In color A, Hdc in same st as ch 1, mini cl st in each st across until the last st, hdc in the last st. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3-17: Repeat row 2, switch to color B at the end of row 17,
Rows 18: In color B, Hdc in same st as ch 1, mini cl st in each st across until the last st, hdc in the last st. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 19-21: Repeat row 2, switch to color A at the end of row 21.
Repeat rows 2 thru 21 until you reach the desired length.
BORDER PATTERN
Rounds 1-2: In color B, sc in each st around, and place 3 sc in each corner. At the end of the round, slp st into the 1st st. Switch to color A at the end of the 2nd round.
Round 3: In color A, sc in each st around, and place 3 sc in each corner. At the end of the round, slp st in to the 1st st.
