After eyeing this pattern for some time, I recently made the Flora Blossom Blanket (by Jonna Martinez), and it turned out wonderfully. I even started a 2nd blanket before finishing the first one. The first blanket will be much larger, so it’ll take a longer time to complete it. There’s a progress picture later in this post if you’d like to see it. I purchased the pattern, then followed the YouTube tutorial to get started. The pattern is so easy to follow once you memorize the repeat. I’ll probably make this blanket with different colors and yarns so check back for the latest make.

For this blanket, I used Hobbii Baby Cotton in the colors Vintage Rose (17), Baby Pink (12), Light Rose (11), and Cream (02) with a 3.5 mm crochet hook. It’s a super fine or fingering weight yarn and the drape is really nice with a 3.5mm hook. In the future, I might try a 3.25mm hook for tighter stitches.

This blanket is still in progress. It’s the first one I started making but will take a while to complete. I’m making this blanket with Hobbii’s Dahlia in the color Deep Impact (03), using a 2.75mm hook. I love this with color changing yarn because you don’t have to worry about weaving in a bunch of ends. It’s also really exciting when the color changes. For this one, I’m alternating 2 skeins of yarn. When the yellow in the first skein is complete, I use a magic knot to join the yellow in the 2nd skein. And I go back and forth, so it looks like one continuous color change going from light on the inside to dark on the outside. I’ll post more pics when it’s complete, so check back later for the finished blanket :).
