The Juicy Fruits and Whipped Creme Throw is a lovely pattern offered by Red Heart as a free pdf download. They also have a tutorial video on YouTube that is very helpful. Here is a link to the pattern: Red Heart Juicy Fruits And Whipped Crème Throw Pattern | Yarnspirations I came across this pattern on Instragram and immediately wanted to make one.
I have made a few of these blankets and am happy with the result each time. Recently, I made one of these as a baby blanket using Happy Place Yarn by TLYarncrafts x Hobbii. The yarn is a blend of 50% cotton and 50% wool which I’ve never seen or used; I really liked the feel of it while crocheting.
We’ve had a string of bad weather days, so I chose colors that were vibrant to remind me of the upcoming spring and summer seasons. The colors are Lollipop, Peach, and Sunshine which are all happy names that remind you of the fun times of summer. My favorite color of the three is Lollipop because it’s a shade of pink. The peach color is also really beautiful. It’s hard to capture on camera; it looks so much better in person than what you see here.
The resulting blanket was a vibrant, soft and cozy blanket, and I am really happy with it. Here are some pictures and details it; hopefully it inspires you to make one of your own.
Finished Size: 27″ W x 33″ L
Hook Size: 5 mm
Yarn Happy Place Yarn in Lollipop (14), Peach (7), and Sunshine (3) in Solid and Melange, 50% Cotton/50% Wool
Yardage: 6 skeins (1 of each color in Solid and Melange). Each skein is 273 yards. I used about 75% of each skein.
