The Suzette Crochet Blanket is a lovely beginner blanket that is very easy to make. It would make a lovely addition to your home or gift for a loved one. The main stitch of the blanket is the suzette stitch, and it’s repeated over and over until complete. It’s one of my favorite stitches that I return to time and time again. The border of the blanket is 2 rows of single crochet (3 in the corners), and the final row is crab stitch (reverse single crochet).
The blanket in the picture is made with La Mia Baby Cotton from Hobium Yarns. The yarn is a #3 DK weight yarn and they recommend a 2.5 to 3mm crochet hook. I used 2.75mm, and the blanket is soft and dense. With a starting chain of 110 and the border, it measures 25″ by 25.” I used 3 and half skeins which is 763 yards. If I were to make another one with this yarn and stitch, I’d probably use a larger hook (probably 3.25mm).
MATERIALS:
Yarn (you can use any yarn)
Crochet hook according to the weight of the yarn you choose
Yarn needle
Scissors
Stitch Markers (optional)
ABBREVIATIONS (US TERMS):
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
slp st(s) = slip stitch(es)

BLANKET PATTERN
Chain any even number + 1 for the desired width of the blanket.
Row 1: SC in each stitch across, ch. 1.
Row 2: DC in the same stitch as the chain 1, skip 1 st, *SC and DC in the next st, skip 1 st*, repeat from * to * until the final st. DC in the last st.
Rows 3 until the end: Repeat row 2 until you reach the desired length.
BORDER
Round 1: SC in each st around. Place 3 SC in the corners. Slp st to the first st.
Round 2: Repeat round 1.
