Cozy Winter Infinity Scarf

This Cozy Winter Infinity Scarf is a pattern I created to be simple and easy to follow. It’s a 2 row repeat; once you understand the pattern you can sit down in front of the tv or listen to an audio book and continue until it’s complete. The yarn used for the one in the main picture is some leftover Yarn Bee Brushworks yarn I had (80% Acrylic/ 20% Alpaca), but you can use any yarn that you choose. The Brushworks yarn is somewhere between a #3 and #4 weight. The pattern is written based on how I made the scarf in the main picture using 4 colors, the pattern is written for 3, but you can use any number of colors you like once get the repeat down.

Row 3: Chain 3 (counts as 1st dc), *skip 1 st, 2 dc in next st (between the crossed stitches in first row)*, repeat from * to * until the end of the row, dc in the last st (the 3rd chain of the chain 3), ch 3, turn. (The 2 dc should be in the center of the ‘V’ made from the criss crossed dc in the previous row.)

Photo #5 – Chain 3, skip 1 st, 2 dc between the crossed stitches from the first row. The needle shows where the hook should go.

Photo #6 – Completed 2 dcs between the stitches from the first rows.

Photo #7 – Dc in the last st (the 3rd chain of the chain 3). The needle shows where the hook should go.

Photo #8 – Row 2 complete.

Row 4 until the end: Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you’ve reached your desired length, changing colors every 8 rows. (For 9″ width, you should have 24 rows plus the 1st row of sc.)

Final Row: Sc in each st across, fasten off leaving a tail long enough to sew the ends together.

Sew the ends together. (You can also slip st them together.) You’ll have to change colors while seaming to stay consistent with the row colors.

The yarn used in this scarf is Hobbii Rainbow Bamboo in the colors Almond 03, Burnt Terracotta 22, and Dusty Pink Velvet 29 with a 4.5mm hook.

I made this scarf (below) with different specifications (57″ around, 9″ wide) using sport weight yarn (Alpaca Silk from Hobbii) and a 2.75mm hook. The starting chain for this scarf is 305 (because of the smaller hook). I used 4 skeins and switched colors once I used each one so no yarn would be wasted. Sometimes that meant switching colors in the middle of the row. The rest of the pattern is the same. You can adapt the pattern any way you like to your desired measurements.
